Welcome to the NFL Fantasy Football Draft!
Fantasy football is a good way to get involved with the NFL in an extra curricular way. You participate in your own draft, make your own team, and go up against other people in your league.
Your starting team consists of one quarterback, two running backs, two wide receivers, one tight end, a W/R slot where you may place a wide receiver or a running back, one kicker and one whole defense. Your bench gives you six slots that you can fill with who ever. My backup consists of one quarterback, one running back, two wide recievers, one tight end, and a back up defense.
When drafting your team, my best advise would be to draft running backs first because the good ones usually go quick. Your defense and kicker usually are drafted towards the end you don't want to waste a 4th round pick on a defense when you can pick up a tight end considering all the defense will be there past round 7. You usually have one minute and thirty seconds to draft a player before it moves on to the next team. A good spot to be in when drafting would be the middle. If you are first, you get to draft back to back when moving from say round three to four. That can be a good thing because you get two picks back to back. But then you have to wait longer for your next turn because the first time it goes from the first to the last person and next round starts with the last person to the first person and it continues to switch as so. when you are in the middle you are sixth each time so you don't have to wait as long when waiting to draft. Another thing to watch out for when drafting is your players bye weeks. Even though you may want to pick all your favorite players in your favorite team, remember that if five of your best players have the same bye week, your probably not going to do so great unless your backups are amazing. Another important this is when to draft. You don't want to start your draft at the beginning of preseason. If you do, you risk the chance of drafting a player who could become injured before the season and you have to settle for less when you drop him and add a new player.
The add to queue button next to your draft player gives you the chance to go look at other players you want while someone is drafting and when you add them to your queue, it puts all the players you want on one little section. This lets you watch the players you want without having to go through a lot of players to find them. This also shows you if one of your desired players is drafted by someone else, they will disappear from your queue list. Once you have your team ready to go, its as easy as one, two, three. I usually check my team Wednesday before Thursday night football and check my player projections and place them where I want.
Fantasy football can be even more fun if you play with multiple people you know! Its a wonderful experience and gives you a chance to not only watch your favorite team, but other teams as well, it gets you more involved. Now go out there and win your fantasy league!
